Here’s what the Lord is saying prophetically today:

“Open your eyes my people and SEE what I am doing. Is not this a time when my Spirit is working to bring to pass my will? Am I not calling out to my people to ready their spirit and prepare their ways. This IS the moment of breakthrough. Don’t miss what I have, because of what you see. See what I am doing. Feel the closeness of my Spirit. Open your eyes to my love, mercy, grace, and truth. Do not allow your heart and your mind to be swayed from my truth. Bind the truth around your heart. Let my truth be your anchor.”

I want to begin today with a preface to what we are going to talk about.
Scripture gives us some very eye opening words…

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 NKJV
[1] Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, [2] not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. [3] Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

Now, these verses are written regarding the DAY of the Lord.
The second coming of Jesus in judgement upon the earth. They are not referring to the rapture of the Church…which is imminent and can happen literally at any moment going forward.

When Paul speaks about a great falling away, I’ve said many times that this directly relates to Christians falling away from the faith…and it does mean this…but it also goes beyond this meaning.

The phrase, “falling away,” LITERALLY MEANS a falling away from the truth. The word used in Greek is “apostasia” from which we get our word, apostasy.

It means an open rebellion, a defection from the truth, rebels turning away from and openly standing against the Lord.
We are seeing the beginning stages of this NOW.
How much closer are we NOW to the return of the Lord for his church…the rapture?

I will tell you…it’s closer than ever before.

With this being said, we began this series about authority and possessing authority, and we talked about the fact that authority has been given to the people of God.

Authority over demons, strongholds, powers, schemes, sicknesses, problems, and everything else the enemy of our soul can throw at us BELONGS to us.

The reason, however, that more believers do not WALK IN THEIR GOD GIVEN AUTHORITY is because they do not receive it in the way it must be received.

You cannot TAKE authority from God, you RECEIVE authority from God.

This happens in ONE WAY ONLY…and it is the point of this post.

Now, you might be saying, “I am a Christian. I have given my life to Jesus.”
I will tell you, there is a DEEPER LEVEL of submission that the Lord desires from his people.
Not just a surface level.

The Lord is not content with the people of God simply showing up for a church service, hearing a message, and then going about our life as though our Christianity was a “TASK” to be completed.

Submitting to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is an all-encompassing prospect, that will literally affect every single aspect of our life.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ in my life has to do with the way we LIVE on a moment by moment basis.
Yes, God is concerned with every moment of our life, and all the more as the rapture of the church approaches.

If you want to have power in your life that will overcome demons, stop the enemy’s hand, and see powerful displays of the Holy Spirit take place in your life, there is a point of Lordship that cannot be shrugged away.

The more consecrated you are to Jesus, the closer you walk with him, no longer cutting corners in your life, no longer pushing aside the voice of the Holy Spirit as he instructs you on how to live, the more authority the Lord will place upon you.

Those godly men and women of old, who walked in the power of the Holy Spirit…those who preached with power, prayed with anointing, saw the healings, deliverances, victories…Those that saw whole towns come together and the lost being saved by droves…THEY EXPERIENCED THESE THINGS BECAUSE THEY WERE SUBMITTED AND COMMITTED TO THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS OVER THEIR LIFE ON A VERY DEEP LEVEL.

The truth is…
The church was meant to live in governing authority.
We have the power to change nations, and situations through our prayers.

Then why don’t we see more of it happening?
Because great authority comes through complete submission.

Here’s what the Bible says…

James 4:7 NKJV
[7] Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

If you want to win your wars against the enemy, submission is the ultimate key.

When your life is lived in the power of Lordship to Jesus Christ, and you submit your all to him, the devil literally flees from you.

The word, “submit” is:

It means…
To obey, be subject

Thayer’s Dictionary says…
This word was a Greek military term meaning “to arrange [troop divisions] in a military fashion under the command of a leader”. In non-military use, it was “a voluntary attitude of giving in, cooperating, assuming responsibility, and carrying a burden”.

The reason that many believers are not experiencing the freedom that comes from authority in their life is simple.
We keep trying to do everything our own way.
We do not willingly lay down our all to Jesus and ask him what he desires from us.

We try to do it all on our terms, in our way, in our time…and then we wonder why the Lord hasn’t blessed us and helped us more.

Authority is given to us in the greatest measure, when we not only trust Jesus, but WHEN JESUS CAN TRUST US, because we willfully submit to assume kingdom responsibility, we submit to carry the burden of prayer, of intercession, of calling, of living the way that the Lord desires.

To receive real authority, means that WE MUST GIVE IN TO JESUS.

What does the Bible say?

Luke 12:47-48 NKJV
[47] And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. [48] But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

If you want power, authority, miracles, and all these things to operate in your life, you have to understand that MUCH WILL BE REQUIRED OF YOU.

Noted authors and theologians of ages past have called it, living a “crucified life.”

But the Bible also says this very thing…

Galatians 2:18-20 NKJV
[18] For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. [19] For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. [20] I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Paul goes on to say…

Galatians 5:16-24 NLT
[16] So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. [17] The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. [18] But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. [19] When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, [20] idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, [21] envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. [22] But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! [24] Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.

This is, in many ways, a hard word for us to hear.
Hard, because it requires something of us that oftentimes we are reticent to give.

Why? Because…
We long for control.

I believe COTROL is a spirit.
It is a spirit to be warred against and fought against.

The spirit of control will seek to attach itself to your life when you are not fully submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Those who long for CONTROL in their life are looking, not in God’s direction, but in the enemy’s direction.

Control is NOT something God is trying to give us, rather, we are to commit our desire for control over to the Lord and crucify it in order to obtain real authority.

Control does not equal AUTHORITY.

We must recognize that GOD IS THE ONLY ONE IN CONTROL…because of who he is…He is all-powerful. He is all-knowing. He is all-present.

In fact, God is the ONLY ONE in the universe who is really in control of ANYTHING.
We derive authority from the nature of God, not from seeking to control things, which is ultimately God’s job.

The devil was kicked out of heaven because he wanted to CONTROL things.
He tried to TAKE OVER and push God OUT.

On the other hand…

Authority from God, is the rightful use of designated strength, based on the power, place, and position of the authority giver.

*We do not derive real authority from the power of control. *

Authority comes because we are submitted to the authority giver and we USE HIS NAME, HIS POWER, HIS POSITION, AND WE WIELD THESE THINGS UNDER HIS PERMISSION.

As the word of the Lord said at the beginning of this post…
We need to OPEN OUR EYES and see what He is doing. He is trying to bring to pass his will in us, to ready us, to prepare us.

IF you want to be FREE, and experience all the goodness of God, TODAY IS FOR YOU! This post is for YOU!

Here are the points I believe Holy Spirit wants to pinpoint today:

• If you are struggling with something you cannot carry, it may be that you haven’t yet submitted the load to Jesus. DO NOT CARRY WHAT YOU ARE NOT DESIGNED TO CARRY!

• If you are struggling to make everything work out, and constantly battling in your mind, it may be that you need to submit your life more fully to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

• If there are things in your life you cannot get free from…habits, addictions, thoughts, attitudes, anger, fear, worry, doubt…these things of the enemy begin to FLEE WHEN we SUBMIT OURSELVES TO GOD FULLY.
Submission to the Lordship of Jesus is the KEY to victory.

My heart is for the church that Jesus is building and returning for...the church that the gates of hell will not prevail against.
More than anything, the desire of my heart is to see the greatest revival of the Holy Spirit, salvations, spiritual awakening, and for the miraculous to come back to the church, preparing believers for the return of Jesus.
