God is looking for a faithful church.

He longs and desires for a people to rise up that will be faithful to him and to the things that are most important to him.

When we are faithful, that is when we most resemble the Lord.

God can bless a faithful church.

God can use a faithful church.

God can fill a faithful church with his glory, his presence, and his Spirit.

In whatever place we think we are totally faithful, we need to strive to examine ourselves to see where we can be MORE faithful.

This is not the day to simply judge ourselves “good enough.”

The Lord deserves MORE than saints who are just “good enough.”

He deserves saints who are on fire, filled up with his Spirit, thirsty for his presence…who have the desire to love the things he loves and hate the things he hates.

When you want to come close to someone, you become interested in the things that interest THEM, and so it must be in our relationship with Jesus.

A key thing he is interested in is holiness.

Scripture says…

1 Peter 1:13-16 NKJV

[13] Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; [14] as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; [15] but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, [16] because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Here’s a secret:

To be holy is to be set apart.

Set apart for the ONE to whom you belong.

He made us.

He paid the debt we owed.

He purchased our freedom with his own blood.

Until we allow the Holy Spirit to work a work of holiness in our heart, we will forever waffle between the world and the Lord.

The commitment of faithfulness is holiness…declaring that, “I belong only to Jesus!”

We understand that we cannot make our self holy through effort or merit, that it is a byproduct of our relationship with Jesus based on what he has done, but WE CAN strive to give ourselves more completely to him.

Scripture says…

2 Peter 3:10-11 NKJV

[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. [11] Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons OUGHT you to be in holy conduct and godliness,

Next Peter says THIS to his audience…

2 Peter 3:14 NKJV

[14] Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

And this scripture is the essence of a faithful church.

They have peace.

They are without spot.

They are blameless.

Why? Because they pursue faithfulness which proceeds from holiness.

This might sound a little old fashioned to some, but the fact is, nothing about what God desires or requires, has ever changed, and no matter what the media and culture tells us, no matter what the cultural church tells us…what God wants and who God is will NEVER change.

He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

And what does God look for from us?

God is looking for a faithful church…

A faithful church he can bless.

A faithful church he can use.

A faithful church he can pour out his Spirit upon.

A faithful church in which he can start revival.

A faithful Church that echoes the word of a faithful God!

Look at this next passage of scripture that seems negative, but that God wants to use to remind us of ideas that can lead to faithfulness.

Revelation 3:14-22 NKJV

[14] “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

Notice that God himself IS faithful and true.

He says…

[15] “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. [16] So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

The Bible says that God desires TRUTH in the inward parts.

Truth makes us on fire.

Truth burns away the lie.

Truth strengthens and solidifies us on the inside.

He continues…

[17] Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’-and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked- [18] I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Now listen to what the Lord says next…

[19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

Scriptures like these don’t make us feel good about ourselves, but what they do for us is to give us the opportunity to see ourselves for who we are and REPENT!

God is calling on the church, the capital “C” church to repent.

The people of God will come into revival when they call on God, repent, seek his face, and pursue faithfulness!

Jesus says…

[20] Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. [21] To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. [22] “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”‘”

So this is not a Negative passage of scripture, it is an admonition from the Lord to get right, and get to a place where God can pour through you.

Specifically, these next ideas are the thoughts God gave me to mention in regard to being a faithful church:

Be Faithful to be WHO he called YOU to be.

It’s time for the church to stop running here and there pursuing the next fad, trying to become something we are not supposed to be, but to be WHO the Lord has called us to be.

There is freedom in being who God called you to be!

If you are not happy with the plan of God for your life, there is nothing else in the entire world that WILL make you happy.

Who you are, as a person, as a believer, following the plan of God is most important thing in the world.

It’s time for the people of God to quit trying to be something else, or someone else, or some other church, and BE THE CHURCH HE CALLS US TO BE.

It’s time to seek God and find out who he wants us to be and then be faithful to that ideal.

Be Faithful in the place where God put you.

As a church, we Must remain vigilant to care about the place, and the people God has assigned us to.

We ought to be praying for the Lord to pour out his Spirit on the place where we live.

We ought to be praying for people to come to salvation, repentance, and acceptance with Jesus.

God placed you where you are because he NEEDS you and wants you to rise up into your potential in that place.

Be Faithful to seek God’s face.

Here’s what the Lord spoke to me about this…

“Every time you seek me you move forward.”

For those that feel held back, it is a “seeking” problem!

“Every time you seek me you move forward.”

Forward in the plan of God.

Forward in faithfulness.

Forward in the things of the Spirit.

The enemy wants us to feel as if our prayers don’t matter and aren’t making a difference…but THEY ARE!

Every single time you pray, YOU move forward in the Spirit AND you MOVE THINGS FORWARD!

Be Faithful to rejoice in God’s presence.

God wants us to worship him.

Yes, you and I can worship with our attendance and with our attitude, but God is looking for a people who will once against worship him with their mouth.

We must put down pride and open our mouth to worship him in Spirit and in truth.

We must…

Worship with abandon.

Worship with joy.

Worship without fear of what others think.

Worship with Jesus as our central focus.

In the book of Acts, the early church literally, and vocally praised and worshipped the Lord.

They raised up their voices and the Spirit fell.

There is coming a day when the people of God will once again have to make a choice to be silent or be heard.

It is coming sooner than you think!

Scripture says if we are silent, the rocks will cry out in our place…never let that be said of us.

Here’s what I’m saying…

Men need to be vocal.

Women need to be vocal.

People need to see us and hear us worship.

If it makes the people around us uncomfortable, so be it!

We don’t come to worship the songs or the sermon, but we come to worship Jesus, who has gathered with us!

Lastly, the Lord gave me this thought…

Be Faithful to keep unspotted from sin.

Here’s what that means…

Stop the playing games and keep ourselves closer to God than ever before.

Stop the nonchalant attitudes about the holy things of God.

Start living a life of sacrifice.

Scripture says…

Romans 12:1-2 NKJV

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

God is looking for a faithful church.

God can bless a faithful church.

God can use a faithful church.

God can fill a faithful church with his glory, his presence, and his Spirit.

It’s time for remnant prayer warriors to be faithful to pray, faithful to gather, and faithful to worship God!

The people of God will come into revival when they call on God, repent, seek his face, and pursue faithfulness!

My heart is for the church that Jesus is building and returning for...the church that the gates of hell will not prevail against.
More than anything, the desire of my heart is to see the greatest revival of the Holy Spirit, salvations, spiritual awakening, and for the miraculous to come back to the church, preparing believers for the return of Jesus.
