It’s obvious to most that we live in increasingly perilous times. Laws are being enacted and written that are against the things of God, people are sleepy in their responses, the church is marginalized more than at any other time in modern history.

To be honest, these things will probably happen MORE as time goes on.
We don’t have to worry or fear.
God has a plan.
There WILL BE another major outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the earth. There is going to be a time of refreshing and renewing, a time of salvation like we haven’t seen before, a time when the marginalized church COMES ALIVE before the return of Jesus.
In the midst of all this, and part of the reason for it, is the the post that the Lord has placed on my heart for this post.

There is a story in the Old Testament that encompasses what is going on right now in the Spirit, and we need to be ready for what God is about to do.

Most people have heard about the story of Esther.
In fact, she has an entire book named after her in the Old Testament.

However, there is MORE to her story that we must recognize and it bears on what we see happening today.

With all my heart, I believe God is raising up some “Esther’s” in the earth at this moment.
He is preparing them, training them, getting them ready for THEIR TIME.

Just like he did with the first Esther, these people will rise into their anointing…and it’s not only females, but men as well, because this is an anointing of the Holy Spirit to do great exploits.

The Lord is calling young men and women who will rise up into this heroic anointing and do great exploits for God in this hour.

What the Lord did through Esther, is an anointing of the Holy Spirit that a person can carry, regardless of who they are.

It is a hero’s anointing.
It is an anointing to carry out the plans of God in the midst of hostility.

However, there is something that we forget, that has NEARLY EVERYTHING to do with Esther…it’s a man named MORDECAI.

God is raising up a generation of Mordecai’s.

Who are they?
They are…
Men and Women of God who will rise up and push a young generation into the plan of God.

• God wants to use YOU to pray for someone whom he will anoint to do great things for the kingdom of God.
• God wants to anoint YOU to intercede.
• God wants to anoint YOU to have favor in places where you would not normally have favor.
• God wants to anoint YOU to take a stand and refuse to bow to the corruption we see rampant all around us.
• God wants to anoint YOU to SPEAK BOLDLY to a young generation, and do all that you can, anointed by the Lord, to push them out of their comfortable places, and into the plan, purpose, destiny, and will of God.

That’s what Mordecai did for Esther.
See, here’s the truth:

These two anointings are dependent upon one another. One will not exist without the other.
Unless we rise up into the anointings God is about to send upon people in the body of Christ, we may fail in many important missions and assignments, but IF WE RISE UP INTO THE CALL HE’S ABOUT TO SEND, we will see mighty revival, restoration, protection from the enemy, favor in the midst of hostility.

Today, I want us to look at the MORDECAI anointing.

Esther 2:5-7 NKJV
[5] In Shushan the citadel there was a certain Jew whose name was Mordecai the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite. [6] Kish had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captives who had been captured with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away. [7] And Mordecai had brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman was lovely and beautiful. When her father and mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter.

Mordecai was Esther’s much older cousin.
When her parents died, he took Esther, and adopted her as his own.

He loved her, and raised her as a daughter.
Scripture begins with a picture of who Mordecai was…
Commentary says:
*“Mordecai’s people were Jews. He was of the tribe of Benjamin. His ancestry given here contains some famous (or notorious) names of the tribe of Benjamin. The name “Shimei” was the same name of the evil man who cursed King David when David fled Jerusalem in the revolt of Absalom (2 Samuel 16), and the name “Kish” is the same name of the man who was the father of King Saul.” *
Reference: “Mordecai: The Defender Of The Jews” by John G. Butler.

Mordecai didn’t come from the best family background.

There were some skeletons in his closet so to speak.

Sometimes we look at our life, and think, “there is nothing God can use me for because of my past.”
But God isn’t focused on your past, he is focused on your HEART.

God saw a HEART inside of Mordecai, that was the heart of a champion.
Unafraid, bold, caring, loving, compassionate, willing to sacrifice.

It’s not about where you came from, it’s about what your HEART looks like before the Lord.

The Mordecai anointing will rest on those whose heart is right with God, and who keep themselves pure in the midst of a crooked and perverse society.
In the plan of God, Mordecai’s PLACEMENT was also VITAL.

Did you ever think to yourself, “if only I had been given the chance to be born “here” or “there,” who knows what my life would have been like?”

Sometimes we wish for a different PLACEMENT in life, but as a believer, you have to know and understand that…

There is NOTHING about your life that is fluid, rather, your purpose in life is FIXED and FOUNDED around where you are right now.

God can and God will USE YOU in your place!

You have NO IDEA who your life will impact!

The crux of Esther’s story is that she was taken by force into custody in the king’s palace.
God was setting her up…BUT NOT WITHOUT MORDECAI.

Can I say something about the young generation among us? They will most likely FAIL without the support and anointing given to their Mordecai’s.
The Esther anointing is the anointing for a young generation to do heroic acts in the midst of persecution.
The Mordecai anointing is the anointing to push a young generation into their place and to speak boldly and stand against evil.
These two anointings are for people who God is going to use, and anyone has the potential of operating in these anointings.

What is it that Mordecai does that we need to see and be ready to do?

FIRST, Mordecai intercedes for Esther.

Now, I want to be clear…The book of Esther doesn’t mention the name of God…at all.
It doesn’t come out explicitly using the word “prayer” very much, but it is included in the Old Testament because you can SEE the PROVIDENTIAL hand of God all throughout this book.

Here’s what the Bible says:

Esther 2:10-11 NKJV
[10] Esther had not revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it. [11] And every day Mordecai paced in front of the court of the women’s quarters, to learn of Esther’s welfare and what was happening to her.

Let me ask you a question…
Mordecai loved this girl as his own daughter. He had taken compassion on her, given his life in sacrifice to raise her, taken care of her, and done all that he could for her…for her entire life…do we really think that Mordecai was only walking around in front of the palace?

I believe that Mordecai was pacing in front of Esther’s place of captivity, and praying for her!

He was interceding on her behalf.

He was acting like any father, worth his salt, would act. If you have sons or daughters who the enemy has taken captive in sin, problems, circumstances, and trouble…PRAY FOR THEM!

Your prayers hold power and authority in their life because of the position God has given YOU with THEM.

Esther was going to be raised up for great purpose and great destiny, she needed a prayer covering.
In the same way, God is about to give some of his people the anointing to cover a young generation in prayer.

You might not know why they are on your heart to such a degree, but it’s because God is going to use them, and he is anointing you to be a Mordecai and PRAY for them!
• It might be for your children.
• It might be for your grandchildren.
• It might be for a close friend.
• It might be for someone who you’ve rarely even spoken to.

**But nevertheless, keep your heart open for the voice of God, and listen for his call to pray. When he places a person on your heart…PRAY FOR THEM. **
You don’t know what God may be about to use THEM FOR.

SECOND, under the Mordecai anointing, God wants to anoint you with a PLACE of favor.

Esther 2:19-23 NKJV
[19] When virgins were gathered together a second time, Mordecai sat within the king’s gate.
[20] Now Esther had not revealed her family and her people, just as Mordecai had charged her, for Esther obeyed the command of Mordecai as when she was brought up by him.
[21] In those days, while Mordecai sat within the king’s gate, two of the king’s eunuchs, Bigthan and Teresh, doorkeepers, became furious and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.
[22] So the matter became known to Mordecai, who told Queen Esther, and Esther informed the king in Mordecai’s name.
[23] And when an inquiry was made into the matter, it was confirmed, and both were hanged on a gallows; and it was written in the book of the chronicles in the presence of the king.
Mordecai comes to a place of favor IN THE KING’S GATE.

Not everyone was allowed to be in this position.
It spoke about the influence of the Jewish people…even outside of their own land, they still retained power and influence, because God has anointed them with favor…and in the same way, as the people of God in the earth today…the church…God will anoint YOU with favor you don’t deserve, to rise up into the anointings he will call you to walk in.

THIRD, God wants to anoint YOU to take a stand and refuse to bow to the corruption we see rampant all around us.

One thing we often forget about Mordecai is that he was bold and unashamed, and he made the choice to take a stand.

Esther 3:1-2 NKJV
[1] After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and set his seat above all the princes who were with him. [2] And all the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate bowed and paid homage to Haman, for so the king had commanded concerning him. But Mordecai would not bow or pay homage.

Haman was a wicked man.
He was set on wicked intentions.
He was against the Jewish people.
There is always an enemy against the Jews as the people of God, and as we will see, against the church who is grafted into the family of God.

We need a generation of Mordecai’s who will NOT BOW DOWN to the garbage that we see promoted in the government, in our nation, and in the culture around us.

We must RISE UP into our anointing to say, “NOT ME. I WON’T BOW.”

God needs men AND women who will be the EXAMPLE to a young generation, showing what it means to have conviction, strength, and to be fearless in the face of oppression.

LASTLY, God wants to anoint YOU to SPEAK BOLDLY to a YOUNG generation, and do all that you can, anointed by the Lord, to push them out of their comfortable places, and into the plan, purpose, destiny, and will of God.
God wants to use you to pray hero’s into place!
You might not see how God could use you, but HE WILL!

God can bring something OUT OF NOWHERE, and raise you up to pray for YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR GRANDCHILDREN, YOUR FAMILY, PEOPLE IN YOUR CHURCH, EVEN IN THIS NATION, to take a stand, and to speak boldly into their life.

It could be for your son or daughter…DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE MORDECAI TO THEM.

Speak boldly into their life.
Tell them the truth.
Push them towards the destiny of God.

Without a strong Mordecai, Esther as we know her, would not exist.

When Mordecai learned of Haman’s wicked plot against the Jewish people, he immediately began to pray, and was not afraid to pray in the places of authority.

Esther 4:1-2 NKJV
[1] When Mordecai learned all that had happened, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the midst of the city. He cried out with a loud and bitter cry. [2] He went as far as the front of the king’s gate, for no one might enter the king’s gate clothed with sackcloth.

When Esther sent word to Mordecai about everything going on, THIS WAS HIS REPLY:

Esther 4:13-14 NKJV
[13] And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.
[14] For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

I’m telling you right now…God is RAISING UP SOME MORDECAI’S to push a young generation into their purpose!
I believe He is calling men and women to pray, stand, pray in the influential places, and boldly speak and direct the next generation they’ve been given influence over.

God’s about to do something in this nation, and even around the earth, and this Mordecai and Esther anointing, I believe is pivotal to the coming revival.
Is God calling you to be a Mordecai?
Don’t push the notion away.
Is God calling your son or daughter, your grandchildren, or even your close friend, into the Esther anointing to be a hero?
Don’t push the possibility away.

I’ll finish with this statement:
There is about to be a generation of Mordecai’s rise up in the body of Christ, and God will use them to push a young generation into their God ordained destiny. Keep your heart open to the call.

My heart is for the church that Jesus is building and returning for...the church that the gates of hell will not prevail against.
More than anything, the desire of my heart is to see the greatest revival of the Holy Spirit, salvations, spiritual awakening, and for the miraculous to come back to the church, preparing believers for the return of Jesus.
