God is calling out to his people.
There is a preparation taking place.
There is a moving and shifting taking place.

Those who love God and know him, are doing something in this present moment.

They are building for themselves a place of intimacy with God.
Seeking him.
Looking for him.
Listening to him.

There are some that shut off the things of God, and go about to do what they have always done.

But we are about to see things all around us that will push us, and pull on us.

The people of God NEED to be ready.

And at the risk of you shutting out what I am saying, I will go ahead and say it again.

At all costs.
Now is the time to get ready and stay ready.

Over and over, these are the messages that the Lord continues to push into my spirit.

Not to me only, but I hear the message everywhere.

Is revival coming? Yes. I absolutely believe that God is about to pour out his Holy Spirit on the earth in an unprecedented fashion.

To those who are hungry and thirsty for more of God, and to see him move, God will make himself available like never before.

Why? Because he is getting his church READY and PREPARED to meet him.
There is a harvest about to take place.

But here’s where I fear that we may miss it…
In the midst of the move of God, there may also be very TRYING TIMES.

The church may have to face things we have not faced before…certainly not in this nation.

Battles to stand for what we believe.
Battles to walk in the ways of God.

If you simply have a listening ear…
We hear, see, and feel the birth pains of something happening.

God continues to whisper into the souls of those who will listen.

He is preparing you.
He is for you.
He is an ever-present help in the time of trouble.

Scripture says…

2 Peter 3:1-4 NKJV
[1] Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), [2] that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, [3] knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, [4] and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

My fear is that the church, the body of Christ, the bride of Christ is not adequately preparing herself to be READY for the bridegroom that is just about to return.

All the while, the Spirit of the Lord whispers to us…GET READY.

The invitation of scripture is clear.
The Lord wants the people of God to know what to expect, and what they have available to them.

Isaiah 55:1-7 NKJV
[1] “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.

God has spiritual food and drink for you that will restore your soul.

You don’t have to struggle along with the rest of the world, when there is a God who provides peace, rest, and power when you need it most.

[2] Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Next he gives us the key to all this…

[3] Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you- The sure mercies of David.

The church is grafted into the people of God.
We belong to Jesus…
The covenant promises of his word are to us as well.

[4] Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people. [5] Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the LORD your God, And the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.”

Then he says this to us…

[6] Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. [7] Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

This CLEARLY IMPLIES that there is a time when the Lord MUST be sought, and there is a time when he may not be found.

Church, the time to seek God is NOW.

Here’s what the Lord is saying to us…

“Seek the Lord BEFORE the storm comes.”

When you see something on the horizon, something that is potentially harmful, you don’t wait to prepare.

When tornado season rolls around, you make sure that you have everything ready where and when you need it.
During the winter, you always make sure there is adequate fuel in your vehicle in case you are stranded.

Many make sure that they have some extra provisions on hand for those moments when hard times occur.

This is normal and right.
Preparation is a key.
But I’m not talking about natural preparation.

This is not a message telling people to go and raid the stores, as we saw a few months ago.

Rather, the Lord is trying to tell his people to prepare by SEEKING HIM before the storm comes.

For many, the difficult thing is, they would rather raid the store, and stock up on goods, than they would to turn from their way of life and begin to seek God with all their heart and soul!

But here’s the truth…
God is looking for people who will seek his face, follow his ways, open their heart to his Spirit NOW, BEFORE the storm.

I don’t know what the storm is.
I don’t know what’s coming.
I don’t know what the Lord has in store.
I don’t know all the plans the enemy has or what the battles will be.

All I know is that the people of God need to be ready, and my fear is that collectively, we are not listening, or getting ready.

There is an unspoken apathy among the capital “C” church.
We don’t want to think that anything is ever going to be different from how it has always been.

But the same sentiment was true way back in Noah’s day as well.

Matthew 24:37-39 NKJV
[37] But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. [38] For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, [39] and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

You and I, as the people of God MUST get ready!

Don’t be caught unprepared in the middle of the storm as the disciples felt unprepared even though Jesus was IN the boat.

Jesus was with them.
Jesus was not afraid.
Jesus was at rest.

The storm never bothers Jesus, because he is the ruler of everything.

Listen to this story of the storm…

Mark 4:35-40 NKJV
[35] On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”

This verse holds a KEY for us.
It says, “he said to them…let us cross over…”

We have to remember, that when Jesus SAYS IT…WE CAN DO IT…no matter HOW BAD things around us may look.

You might SEE the storm.
You might SEE the waves.
You might FEEL the wind.
You might FEEL the pressure build.

But Jesus has called to his church, and declared to us that even the gates of hell will not prevail against us.

He is in the boat.

[36] Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. [37] And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.

Let me say something somewhat controversial…
There may be moments in the near future when it looks like the church will not prevail.

There may be moments when fear tries to leap on people.
People who have been solid and stable become suddenly afraid and change everything about what they’ve always done, and what they’ve always believed.

People who have trusted in Jesus, who simply walk away.

But I’m telling you…

Now is NOT the time for the people of God to jump ship.

  • We must continue to seek God before the storm.
  • We must continue to gather.
  • We must continue to DESIRE the move of God.
  • We must continue to BELIEVE the Word of God.

These are foundational things for us…DON’T LAY THEM ASIDE in fear of the storm!

Here‘s the very telling description of Jesus during all the commotion.

[38] But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” [39] Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. [40] But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Here’s the point:

The reality was…

  • Nothing had actually changed.
  • The plan of Jesus was still moving forward.
  • Jesus was still with them.
  • His call to go across to the other side was still active and in place.
  • Only the environment had changed.

Right now, the spiritual environment is changing.
The national environment is changing.
It seems that even the church environment is changing.

Everywhere we look, things seem different and there appears to be a storm arising.

But you have to know that NOTHING has changed about the plan of God for your life or for his church.

The time is NOW to seek the Lord BEFORE the storm comes so that you are ready and don’t lose your faith IN the storm.

Recognize his authority.
Recognize his ability.
Recognize his power.
Call upon him in the present.

Don’t wait until the ship is filling with water to seek him.
Don’t wait until the last minute to prepare.

The time is NOW! Not later!!
Seek the Lord WHILE he may be found!

  • In Noah’s day, they heard the preaching.
  • They heard the cries to repent and be ready.
  • They had the same chance and opportunity to go inside the ark of safety as Noah did.

They simply refused the warning and refused to change.

They didn’t realize what was coming UNTIL IT CAME!

Here’s what I am saying to you now.

Something IS coming.
We MUST be ready.

“Seek the Lord BEFORE the storm comes.”

Why? Because…

  • God has prepared the church as an ark of safety.
  • God has prepared his presence as an ark of safety.
  • God has prepared the Holy Spirit infilling as an ark of safety.
    And certainly…
  • God has prepared JESUS as the ultimate ark of safety.

He is the captain of our salvation.
The beginning and the end.
The bright and Morning star.

Here is the clarion call today…

God is calling the church, the people of God to WASH their garments…pure, clean, and white in the blood of the lamb.

Revelation 7:14-17 KJV
[14] And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

I certainly do not believe the church will endure the tribulation, but I use this passage as a reference for principle, that WE TOO must wash our robes in the blood of the lamb so that we are READY.

Wash your garment in his blood.
Seek the Lord before the storm.
Seek the Lord WHILE he may be found.

Here’s the result…

[15] Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. [16] They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. [17] For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

I am telling you…
If you want to be numbered in THAT number you MUST:
Wash your robe in the blood of the lamb.
Seek the Lord BEFORE the storm.

Don’t allow ANYTHING into your life or your heart, or into your family that will defile you.

But as scripture declares to us…we must PUT ON CHRIST.

Let’s finish with this passage of scripture…

Romans 13:11-14 NKJV
[11] And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. [12] The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. [13] Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. [14] But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

It’s time to…
“Put on Christ…”
“Make no provision for the flesh…”
“Seek the Lord BEFORE the storm comes.”

Remnant prayer warriors…it is time to rise.

My heart is for the church that Jesus is building and returning for...the church that the gates of hell will not prevail against.
More than anything, the desire of my heart is to see the greatest revival of the Holy Spirit, salvations, spiritual awakening, and for the miraculous to come back to the church, preparing believers for the return of Jesus.
