You need to know that God says,

“I STILL HAVE a people…a people who are hungry, a people who are thirsty for my presence, a people who will humble themselves and seek me. The cry is going forth, the call has been and is being issued. I am calling my people out to fall before me, to seek my face, to pour out their lives and hearts before me. I will answer. As the remnant of my people rise, I will rise in them.
The devils will not have victory, the demons will be dispersed as the Spirit moves among my people. Get ready…get ready my people. This is the time to get ready for what I’m about to do next.”

I am so stirred at the word of the Lord.
It’s time for us, for the people of God to become serious about seeking.
Serious about the presence.
Serious about what God is going to do.

That one sentence from the word God placed in my heart, rings in my ears…
“As the remnant of my people rise, I will rise in them.”

I’m reminded of the prophet’s feeble cries, his anguish of heart and spirit as he cried before the Lord.

He felt alone and defeated, even though God had done great exploits through his life.

And it reminds me of the church.

The church has been a mighty lion against the powers of hell.
God has moved with miraculous power in the church in days past.

There have been healings and miracles.
There have been people who were totally and completely delivered from drugs, alcohol, and perversion.
There have been people set free from all sorts of sin.

Have we allowed ourselves to feel lost and undone as though nothing good can ever come again?

Please understand…

A fresh move of the Holy Spirit is about to be poured out on the remnant of God’s people who seek him and want him.

It is vital that you are part of the remnant.
It is pivotal that your life is utterly tied to Jesus.

A remnant is a group of people, believers, usually small in number, however they are set aside to seeking the presence and power of the Spirit.

God is rising up in the midst of their heart, drawing them away to prayer, pushing forward in their life.

A couple of months ago, the Lord spoke to my heart just as I was about to preach, I’ve alluded to this once before, he said…
“Be prepared for smaller crowds, but I will move in those who come, I will move in the remnant.”

Listen, please understand…we may begin as a remnant, but God has often brought mighty movements out of nowhere.

The Bible says…

Luke 12:29-32 NKJV
[29] “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. [30] For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. [31] But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. [32] “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

“As the remnant of my people rise, I will rise in them.”

Don’t be discouraged and downcast, for the Lord is about to rise.

Here’s what the Bible says regarding Elijah, the man of God…

1 Kings 19:11-14 NKJV
[11] Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; [12] and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. [13] So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Why does the Lord ask this question?
It is because Elijah is RUNNING FROM THE ENEMY.

He has come from one of his greatest victories and NOW he is on the run…in hiding.

He is afraid.
He feels alone.
He feels forsaken.

Yet in the midst of it all, not only has he just come from great victory, but in the midst of the agony he feels, he is experiencing another great move of God’s Spirit.

The Lord is giving him an illustrated message about God’s voice.

Elijah hears the voice of the Lord.
God speaks.

This is a great moment in the presence of God for Elijah, and often, the press of the enemy, the feeling of defeat, the attack of devils and discouragement comes just on the heels of great moments in the presence of the Lord.

Because the enemy is trying to STOP what the Lord is forming and doing.

Don’t be surprised by the attack.
Don’t be taken back by the attack.

But RISE UP in the midst of it and begin to proclaim the promises of God!

Here’s what Elijah said…

[14] And he said, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”

It reminds me that even the greatest prophets, the greatest men and women of God, the greatest believers, sometimes have moments of great weakness and vulnerability.

Moments come when we feel alone, but the Lord is trying to communicate today to you that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

  • There is a remnant rising.
  • There is a remnant pushing against the darkness.
  • There is a remnant pulling down strongholds.
  • There is a remnant that is still standing for the ways of God.

Remember, God says, “I STILL HAVE A PEOPLE!”

In the midst of political turmoil and unrest, GOD STILL HAS A PEOPLE!

In the midst of economic calamity, GOD STILL HAS A PEOPLE!

In the midst of everything wrong, bad, ungodly, and unholy, GOD STILL HAS A PEOPLE!

Listen, in scripture to the Lord’s answer to Elijah’s declarative sentence…

1 Kings 19:15-18 NKJV
[15] Then the LORD said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. [16] Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place. [17] It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. [18] Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

God still has a people.
God still has a remnant.
The Lord is about to move in the remnant.

Listen to what the New Testament says regarding this same passage…

Romans 11:1-5 NKJV
[1] I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. [2] God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, [3] “LORD, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”? [4] But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” [5] Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

I’m pressing you to be part of the remnant.
Be part of the people that still seek for God.
Be part of what God is doing in the earth.
Be part of the people who hunger and thirst for the Spirit.
Be part of the people who WILL SEE the outpouring of fire and power that is coming!

We sometimes get discouraged by what we see or by what we DON’T SEE.
But I encourage you to take heart, because the battle is not based on what you see with your eyes.

The importance lies in what is happening in the Spirit.

I’m telling you, “there is GLORY coming!”

Even among the smallest of the small.
Even among those that feel weak.
Even among those who feel forgotten.

There is glory coming.
The Spirit of the Lord is preparing, he is working even now to precipitate a move.

There will be a harvest.
Cities will see it.
States will see it.
Rural areas will see it.

And it is that last sentence that makes my heart leap inside my chest.

For years, I have believed and prayed for God to move in rural areas…in small out of the way areas…in places where it might even feel like the church has simply been forgotten.

I can see people gathered in fields.
I can see people gathered on church lawns.
I can see people that look like they are in the middle of nowhere, when in reality they are positioned right under the place of God’s open heaven!

In those places, when the hungry rise up, when the thirsty rise up, when the lions of the church rise from slumber and sleep, a mighty move of the Spirit of God will happen!

If you want to experience it…
What we must do is catch a glimpse of God’s glory in order to give us a desire for MORE.

This is what happened to another prophet. His name was Isaiah.

Here’s what the Bible says about him…

Isaiah 6:1-8 NKJV
[1] In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. [2] Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. [3] And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” [4] And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. [5] So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.” [6] Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. [7] And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” [8] Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

God wants to give you a glimpse of his glory.

It will change you.
It will wake you up.
It will set you on fire for Jesus.
It will charge you.
It will free you.
It will cause you to understand your absolute lack of anything good APART from him.

The beginning point for the work of God in our life is a real, true, Spirit inspired glimpse of God’s glory.

It takes a glimpse of the Glory to awaken us and get us ready to be used as part of the remnant.

Glory is going to poured out upon and in the remnant, but not a glory that glorifies THEM or their SEEKING of God, but GLORY that GLORIFIES the Lord.

The church, the people of God, become the body, placing the full glory and their full identity in the HEAD…Jesus…the face of God.

2 Corinthians 4:6-10 NKJV
[6] For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. [7] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. [8] We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; [9] persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed- [10] always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

THIS…THIS is what the true remnant longs for.
For the glory of God to be revealed in the face of Jesus.
In our towns…
In our cities…
In our rural communities…
In hay fields…
In gatherings both large and small…
In our nation…
In our courts…
In our White House…
In the remnant of his people…
For the whole earth to be full of his glory.
For the light to shine in darkness and for the lost to see the light.
For the glory of God to so pour upon us, that we are nameless other than the name of Jesus.

God STILL HAS a people.
He is readying them NOW.

My heart is for the church that Jesus is building and returning for...the church that the gates of hell will not prevail against.
More than anything, the desire of my heart is to see the greatest revival of the Holy Spirit, salvations, spiritual awakening, and for the miraculous to come back to the church, preparing believers for the return of Jesus.
